About Us

MKey Ventures Fund invests in early-stage high-tech companies and start-ups focused on disruptive technologies, e-commerce, scalable and innovative solutions in the IT sector.

The main purpose is to give the possibility for talented, hard-working, and “whatever it takes” attitude entrepreneurs to focus on their bright, disruptive and fascinating ideas, that could grow as a businesses, that would bring added value to the society. The funding combined with the transfer of knowledge and exceptional mentoring for the right companies at the right moment will allow rapid growth, deployment of new professionals, and create a community, which is passionate, dedicated and revolutionary by its nature to disrupt the status quo in the fast-evolving high-tech world.

About Us

Our Strategy

We are looking to invest in pre-seed, seed and series A rounds, as that is the area, in which we see, that we can contribute the most by having extensive entrepreneurial experience. We want to invest in what we understand and believe. For that reason we focus on Tech, Blockchain/Cryptocurrency, E-commerce, Health/Med-tech, Fintech, EdTech. We look for startups with scalable business models built on strong fundamentals and sustainability.

As being passionate entrepreneurs, we are looking for minds alike - we seek for "whatever it takes" mindset in the management teams of the companies we invest. Passionate and innovation driven management team in combination with disruptive technology with great potential of scalability and efficient capital requirements will be a perfect match for us.

Marat Kichikov

Managing Director, Co-founder of Bitfury and Managing Partner of Bitfury Capital

Marat’s background lies in Law and Finance, however, for the last 20+ years he has been a passionate entrepreneur and seed investor in innovative start-ups. He is the founder of several successful companies, including a consumer finance bank, securities and currencies brokerage firms, etc. So far his business activities have taken place in Asia, Europe and the US. He has been taking an active role as a mentor in accelerators like Plug and Play, F50 and many more, enriching his mentoring experience by participating in Startin.lv (Latvian Start-up Association) and as a mentor in different hackathons.

Valery Vavilov

Managing Partner, Co-Founder and CEO of the Bitfury Group

Valery is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in information technology and business management. In 2011, Valery co-founded Bitfury — the world’s leading full-service blockchain technology company and one of the largest infrastructure providers in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its focus to provide custom-designed software and advanced hardware in cryptocurrency, blockchain and artificial intelligence, all while maintaining its position as one of the major public Bitcoin Blockchain security and transaction providers.

Nikolai Oreshkin

Managing Partner at Elysium Venture Capital

Nikolai is an investment professional and experienced entrepreneur with a proven track record in bringing early-stage technology from idea to disruptive growth. Based in Silicon Valley and with strong ties in Europe and China, Nikolai leverages his domain expertise in AI, blockchain, and consumer tech to invest in companies led by visionary technologists from across the world. Nikolai has participated in over 50 VC transactions, including cross-border and M&A, valued at more than $2.5 billion. Previously, Nikolai founded an ISP and was one of the first entrepreneurs who offered internet access to the people of Belarus and promoted social networks
